There’s a reason why successful and wealthy celebrities, Olympians and entrepreneurs use affirmations in their daily rituals.
Creating sustainable success and abundance is an inside job. Your unconscious mind is ruling the show and this is where you need to focus. Fortunately your unconscious mind is open to suggestion – and one gorgeous technique is to use affirmations consistently to create a ‘success mindset’.
A ‘success mindset’ shapes your beliefs, actions, habits and thoughts. It’s what shapes how you show up every single day.
So using affirmations can help you shape how you want to be!
An affirmation is simply an assertion that something exists or is true.
“My name is Becky” is an affirmation.
The beauty in affirmations is that these statements can be used intentionally to create and shape a belief system within your mindset. Through repetition and consistency, you will be able to create new beliefs that 100% align with what you desire to believe.
And I’ll be guiding you through how to do this!
I love thinking of your mind as a garden, and affirmations as the seeds you plant. You are the gardener sowing those seeds (your thoughts!) intentionally.
This is how affirmations beautifully work.
It’s science – not magic! There have been so many studies that demonstrate that consistent use of affirmations helps create new beliefs, behaviours and actions.
And this supports the Law of Attraction and Law of Vibration too! If you choose to repeat positive affirmations that raise your vibrational state, you will attract a vibrational match.
So let’s get started…
Here are my top 10 tips for how to introduce affirmations into your daily routine:
Create your affirmations as statements in the present tense. Not “I will be” which is forward focused, but “I am” to confirm that this is your belief right now
Be mindful of the language you use – avoid any negative words. E.g. avoid using “don’t” or “won’t” as your subconscious mind cannot process negative words. It will only process the words that follow.
e.g. If I said don’t think of a pink elephant – what are you thinking about?
Choose words that you use conversationally so that this affirmation is accepted as truth and not rejected. You can feel inspired by affirmations I share below, but tweak the wording so that it feels good and positive for you.
e.g. you might not use the word ‘wealthy’ and may tweak to ‘abundant’
Avoid affirmations that are too stretching from your current beliefs, as these will be automatically rejected as “lies”! Choose wording that feels stretching, exciting and possible.
e.g. I generate £100k a year – to I am confident in my mindset, my offer and my plans to create consistent £10k income each month with ease
Choose affirmations that 100% support the beliefs, thoughts, and behaviours of Future You. Create intentional affirmations that are edging you towards your dream life.
Affirmations are really powerful when your mind is in a relaxed state, as the words will be communicated directly to your unconscious mind. Aim to repeat your affirmations while your brain is in the ‘alpha’ state – usually following meditation or being in the present moment.
This is why hypnotherapy is so powerful!
Remind yourself of your affirmations throughout your day – remember, repetition is key! Place post-it notes around your home, create phone reminders, have as your computer and phone background, have visual cues around your workspace.
Create a daily habit to repeat your affirmations – morning rituals are really powerful ways to be consistent! And set yourself a promise to never miss 2 days in a row.
You set affirmations to stretch your beliefs and align with your desired future. But remember to review your affirmations to tweak and up-level! I do this within my CEO monthly meeting with myself – add it to your agenda to ensure your affirmations remain intentional and purposeful to your plans.
And finally, take gorgeous inspired action! Affirmations are a gorgeous tool for your mindset, but action is still necessary to create the success and abundance you desire. Keep moving forward positively.
